UGG® Australia debuts its Spring 2013 collection

Ever since the UGG® Australia store opened in Richmond, we have been an UGG family. Myself, Richmond Daddy, and Allegra, have all gotten in on the act with a variety of UGG shoes now dominating our hallway.  Only baby Claudia has yet to join the UGG gang in our household (while I LOVE the pram shoes, they seem a little too frivolous even for me, so I’ll wait until she actually needs proper shoes!).

Given my new-found love for UGG, I was more than happy to pop down to the Richmond store to be walked around the new Spring 2013 collection, which has just gone on shelf.  If you’ve ever thought UGG delivered nothing more than the classic knee high or ankle suede boot with fluffy sheepskin lining, then think again.  The brand brings a whole lot more in shoe-fabulous to dress up your feet and the Spring collection, inspired by the Marrakech Bazaar and so bursting with beautiful jewel tones and ornate prints, will really have you ooo-ing and aaaah-ing in appreciation.

There’s so many pieces to fall in love with that I’ve found it pretty tough to be selective, but after careful consideration, here are my top picks:

Ugg-Lucianna-Marrakech-Night-Silk-6This darling is the Lucianna Marrakech (Night) from the Isla Collection.  A flattering and wearable wedge shoe, with stunning printed fabric/ribbon straps.  It comes in a variety of print colours, but this rich blue is my favourite, and if you don’t fancy the patterned look then there’s the plain option, as the shoe also comes in non-patterened juicy Persimmon (orange), Raspberry Sorbet (pink), and Jade – basically I want all three of these, but I’d probably opt for the pink if I HAD to choose:

I think both shoes would look amazing with a summer maxi-dress but could also be worn with skinny jeans or cropped trousers, to provide fantastic leg-lengthening effects.  I was really impressed by the softness of the insoles, which means that as well as looking super stylish they are likely to be super comfortable too: a rarity in summer shoes I find.

Next on my summer shoe hit-list are a great pair of seasonal flats and here, UGG has really come up trumps, while simultaneously giving me a dilemma that I’m yet to resolve.  I love these Indah Marrakech pumps from the Kavar Collection, which look super comfy and stylish thanks to the addition of UGG sheepskin at the heel (genius!) and the Marrakech deco print:

But then I also love these Marrah shoes in Raspberry Sorbet from the Kavar Collection too, with their buttery soft leather in stunning pink and moccasin stitch detail.  Wouldn’t they just be the perfect holiday shoes? – these could take you from the plane to the beach and be gorgeous and go-with-everything at the same time.  I think my mind is made up… hmmm…

And as for Richmond Daddy, I’d like to see him sporting a pair of these stripey numbers this summer:  the Wilton shoe in Moroccan Stripe from the Eastsound Collection:

Shoes in the Eastsound Collection have a rather nifty Vibram outsole, created exclusively for UGG, which apparently makes them technically advanced (?!).  I just rather liked the look of them, but that’s me all over…

Finally of course I couldn’t resist a peek at the children’s range and these really caught my eye.  Are they not THE cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!

flipflopThese are the UGG Infant Yia Yia flip flops, oh my god they are adorable! Complete with soft and cosy heel strap to help keep them in place on tiny feet and remain comfy at the same time. So so cute for wearing during the hot weather and padding about by a pool or on the beach.  I am sorely tempted to make a purchase of these for Allegra… I think I may have to give into temptation on this one!

I was invited to the UGG store in Richmond to take a look at the new Spring 2013 collection and was given a gorgeous UGG beach towel and luggage tag as a thank-you for taking the time to pop in and for writing this post.  All opinions are honest and my own and these shoes really are on my summer wardrobe hit list!

babyGap presents Peter Rabbit™

IMG_2479Gap has always been one of my main “go to” shops for Richmond Toddler’s clothes, pretty much since birth. So I was particularly excited to be invited to a bloggers breakfast last week to view the exclusive new babyGap collection inspired by Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit™. The limited-edition collection, in stores and online now, presents a range of clothes and gifts for girls and boys from newborn to 24 months and if you have children in that age range, or are looking for a gorgeous present for a friend with kids, I urge you to take a look because there are SO many beautiful beautiful things!

As Allegra is now pretty much firmly wearing age 2-3 year old clothes, I decided I would browse the collection with the new baby in mind: particularly because, as I mentioned recently, I haven’t actually bought anything new for baby number two as we have so so many clothes from Allegra to hand down to her that it’s seemed crazy to buy anything new. But, I figured a few little treats, just for her, were probably in order, if not least for her first days in the world!

Well, there are so many beautiful things to chose from, it was hard to pick out my favourites.  An assortment of soft knit graphic bodysuits, brightly coloured denim, whimsical one-pieces and patterned dresses.  For baby girls, highlights include coloured and printed denim (£14.95), cable knit cardigans (£16.95), and billowing dresses in chambray eyelet and pink bunny print designs (£17.95):

For boys, key items include Peter’s Jacket (£16.95), a navy chunky knit cardigan and one-pieces in chambray and plaid (£16.95):

There are some super special pieces for newborns too, with adorable Peter Rabbit illustrated bodysuits that are sold separately or as sets, which would make for perfect new baby gifts (prices range from £8.95 – £27.95).

I was really impressed by the collection and not just because of the gorgeous designs and variety within the range, both for girls and boys (lots of my mummy friends with boys are always telling me that they struggle to find interesting boy clothes, well if your boy is under 24 months, then here they are!), but also because the fabrics are really soft and good quality too:  I think they’d most likely wash really well also, which as we know is a particularly important quality!

I was very generously gifted a £50 voucher as a thank-you for coming along to the blogger breakfast, to spend at Gap, and I wasted no time in using it to stock up on some adorable new baby items for Richmond Baby number two.  Here’s my haul and my top picks:

(L to R) Peter Rabbit Bunny Ears Hat; Puff Sleeve Bodysuit; Intarsia Rabbit Sweater; Short Sleeve Graphic Body Double; Peter Rabbit Graphic Footed One Piece

Anything I bought that falls into the 0-3 months age range will be packed into my hospital bag ready for baby to be dressed in as part of her first few days wardrobe:  so keep an eye out for the pics of baby modelling the new range soon!

To browse the full babyGap limited edition Peter Rabbit™ collection online, click here for baby girls wear and here for boys.  Or pop in-store to take a look – the collection is likely to be around for about a month, so get yourself down there now!

A big thank you to Gap for inviting me along and for the generous gift voucher, I’m delighted with my new baby goodies :-)

Something for the weekend…

Am midway through launch week of my new Stella & Dot business and it’s time to showcase some more of the AW11 collection, which I promised to do all this week.  So, here’s something for the weekend…

It’s been all too easy to get swept away with all the amazing statement necklaces in the Stella & Dot collection, but with prices hovering between the £100-200 mark that does make them more of a splurge purchase.  So, I wanted to share with you some of the gorgeous pieces in the collection that are under £50:  great for everyday wear to add some oomph to a otherwise run-o-the-mill jeans and t-shirt outfit and fantastic for gifts (Christmas is coming people, Christmas is coming…).

I’ve already highlighted the fab Panther Pendant necklace, which is a Vogue favourite and a snip at £40, so that aside, here are my top 5 under £50:

Together Forever Necklace (£40)

Deco Drop Earrings - £35

Aurora Cocktail Ring - £40

Plume Brooch - £29

Bardot Spiral Bangle - £40
